Wrap up - 2026
I found myself back at this blog and see that I never finished with the story. In the end, Greta did great with the FHO. Along the way, though, it was a bit of a challenge. She was so strong that she didn't need to use her affected leg. Her surgery was in February and by early summer she was just ignoring her right back leg. I talked with various vets at our clinic and we tried physical therapy that I did with her at home and we tried a TENS unit to stimulate her leg muscles. What finally got her using her leg was the hose. Greta loved water! She loved chasing the spray of the water around. Once we were warm enough to use the hose, I started spraying water in a figure-eight motion. She chased that stream of water, twisting both left and right.
